5 Tips to get out of a bad mood It’s totally OK to be in a bad mood from time to time. But knowing some ways to get yourself out of such a state of mind is important too and really helpful. So I gathered my top 5 tips on how to pull yourself out of a poorly mood and cheerful again.  So pour yourself some tea and prepare yourself for 5 tips to be briskly. And don’t forget to share your tips at the end! xx

Allow yourself to feel it

We all have those times we don’t feel ourselves. And it’s totally fine. It’s human! That’s why we need to allow ourselves to feel those feelings. Let them out. Staying in with a girlfriend, eating ice-cream, talking and sometimes even crying. Don’t be sorry to feel the way you feel. Accept it. Live it for a moment (as I said a night in with your girl or eventually even for a little longer time period). And don’t be sorry about it!

It’s proven that working out lifts the mood. So next time you feel a little sulky. Put on your trainers and go for a run, play tennis with a friend, or take a yoga class. Why?  Working out relieves stress. Stress hormones are THE WORST and put you in a bad mood. So working out actually cheers you up. Another reason to work out when you’re in a bad mood is, you’ll feel so much better afterward. You did something for your health. You’re powered out. And you probably lost some calories *win-win* haha.

Rewatch your favorite TV shows 5 Tips to get out of a bad mood

Yesss. I love me a Netflix marathon. It always sets my mood and get’s me comfortable. Especially when rewatching my favorite shows/series. And shows that have given you pleasure in the past are most likely to cheer you up again.
Some of my favorite shows are:

  • Gilmore Girl
  • The Office
  • New Girl
  • The Simpsons
  • Lovesick
  • OC California
  • Workaholics

Have a snack

By this, I mean like a really yummy snack.I talk dessert here. Treat yourself to a donut, some ice cream or cake. Believe me, it’ll jolly you in no time!  There are little things that give you such a pleasure as eating your favorite dessert. Especially when you’re not one of those persons who enjoy dessert on a daily basis, your favorite treat can give you an extra little high. Do you get what I mean? The idea is to derive pleasure from simple things such as eating your favorite dessert. So grab a cupcake and feel good.

Puppies Puppies Puppies

Who doesn’t adore puppies? No matter which breeds. Puppies are the cutest thing on earth and I believe they’re supposed to make humans happy.  Haha. So the next time you’re in a bad mood visit a friend with a puppy (*note, every dog is a puppy!). And if you don’t know anybody with a doggo… visit an animal shelter. The people who work at animal homes always like to see people come along to spend time with the dogs and the puppies are so excited for some sweet attention. And maybe, you’ll adopt one you become friends with someday?!
For the ones who don’t have the chance to cuddle a real dog. The internet is your friend! Go online and type in Puppy compilation.
My favorite is this one Funny & cute golden retriever

    Puppies are THE BEST.

Man, I wish I had a puppy right now,

Things that cheer me up? Flowers, definitely. Food is a great one (Love me some curry). And probably books. I really enjoy reading.

Haha, yessss. Me too. I love puppies. (Sadly we aren’t allowed to have a dog in our flat 🙁 )

Oh. I agree flowers are great in cheering me up as well. And food also. I’m not that much into most books, do you have any recommendations?
      Much love xx

I love this! When I seem to be in a bad mood I love to just curl up in bed with the shades closed, lights off and watch my favorite shows (mostly law and order SVU) or movies. Blocking my out kind of lets me gather myself and calm down. I used to do really well working out when I’m upset, but the last few months I have fallen off the grid with working out…maybe I should try that again.

Oh, thank you, Holly. I’m glad you like the post. I agree, watching movies or fav shows is THE BEST. Really helps to get back on being happy. Also working out does, I just started myself a few weeks back and feeling so good 🙂 xx

This may come back to bite me in the ass one day, but food always makes me happy. I am aware of the healthy choices, and I actually don’t consume sugar, so I make yummy things for me–usually a bowl of plain yogourt with some fruit, or some cheese, or a seasoned avocado, or Indian dishes [oops, got carried away already!], but the flavour is what gets me happy. Also, babies. Who doesn’t love babies!? [hence the career choice!]

Haha. I agree. The flavors are what really make a dish amazing !! Yummm. Sounds good and reminds me that I need to get some Indian food soon again.
Oh yessss. Babies are ADORABLE <3 All babies. Humans as much as animals 🙂
Thank's fo your sweet comment xxx

I wrote a similar post a few years back and forgot to include the magic of puppies. TV and snacking weren’t on my list either, but I’m sure glad to see I can indulge in them when I need to.
