These are simple tips on how to improve a happier life. As my goal for the year to be more positive, it feels also essential that I share my top five tips to live a happier life. Theses are habits everybody knows but sometimes forgets. So I collected them and share all in one post for you to remember and to be the best version of yourself.
Give up on comparing
Don’t compare yourself to others. You are you and that is amazing! The only person you should compare to is yourself (from the past). By that I mean, are you closer to your goals and dreams today as you were yesterday? I already wrote a post about comparison. Read it here
Stop doing thing you don’t want to do
This is your life! And when you don’t want to do certain things, you don’t have to! At least not on a day to day basis (sometimes we have to do things in our job or school we don’t want to do, but that’s how we grow. And if you really don’t want to, because it’s against everything you stand for, change your course or find a new job. You don’t have to do things you don’t want to).
Exercise to boost your energy
Sport is a great way to get out of the house, interact with people, get in shape, clear your mind and increase your power. After a sudatory workout, you feel so much better about yourself. And you don’t have to go to the gym, you can workout at home or outside.
Spend more time in nature
As mentioned in No. 3 you can locate your workout outside. Go for a run, ride the bike or stretch in the park.
If you’re not that sporty, simple go for a walk or tan in the garden (when it’s summer). My favorite thing is walking to appointments that aren’t that far away. I love to stroll through the city, maybe stop for a coffee or window shop a little.
Keep track of your goals
Everybody has goals! Some are small some are bigger. But when you don’t keep track of them you can lose passion and motivation fulfilling them or just never reach them because you have no idea how to satisfy them. I like to write lists with steps on how I can reach my goal (Overall goal, intermediate steps, a timeline and what I need to do to reach them) it’s really simple when you find a system.
* Today’s post is on the shorter side. As I’m currently stressed out by work and have a few big events ahead I’ll tell you about soon. Much love, Ilka x
